Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Intel NUC versions (affected versions not specified)
Intel NUC Kit versions (affected versions not specified)
Intel Compute Stick versions (affected versions not specified)
Intel Compute Card versions (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to improper buffer restrictions in the firmware of Intel products, which may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access. This is due to a buffer overflow operation in memory. Exploitation of the issue could allow an attacker to elevate their privileges.
Recommendations
For Intel NUC, consider applying a firmware update to resolve the issue, once available.
For Intel NUC Kit, restrict local access to minimize the risk of exploitation until a fix is available.
For Intel Compute Stick, avoid using the device for sensitive operations until the issue is resolved.
For Intel Compute Card, limit privileges of authenticated users to reduce the impact of potential exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
