CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 79.0.3945.130
Description The issue is related to the use of memory after it has been freed in the speech component of Google Chrome, potentially allowing a remote attacker to exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. This could lead to unauthorized access to confidential data, disruption of data integrity, and denial of service. The vulnerability is associated with the SpeechRecognizerImpl::Abort function and can be exploited by a specially crafted HTML page.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 79.0.3945.130, update to version 79.0.3945.130 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of the speech recognition feature in Google Chrome until the update is applied.
