CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xen versions prior to 4.11.x
Description The issue is caused by synchronization errors when using a shared resource, allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service or gain privileges by leveraging a page-writability race condition during the addition of a passed-through PCI device.
Recommendations For Xen versions prior to 4.11.x, consider restricting the addition of passed-through PCI devices to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the functionality related to the addition of PCI devices with pass-through functionality until a fix is provided. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
