CVE-2019-2805

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.44 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.26 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.16 and prior
Description The vulnerability in the MySQL Server component is related to inadequate access control in the Parser system. It can be exploited by a remote attacker using specially crafted network packets, potentially leading to a denial of service (DOS) by causing the MySQL Server to hang or crash repeatedly. The issue can be exploited by an attacker with low privileges and network access via multiple protocols.
Recommendations For MySQL Server version 5.6.44 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.44 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 5.7.26 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.26 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 8.0.16 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.16 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
