Description A heap-based buffer underwrite exists in the ImageStream::getLine() function located at Stream.cc in Poppler. This issue can be triggered by sending a crafted PDF file to the pdfimages binary, allowing an attacker to cause Denial of Service (Segmentation fault) or possibly have unspecified other impact. The vulnerability is related to a buffer data boundary operation error, which may allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Poppler version 0.74.0, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
