Description The issue is related to the PHP EXIF extension, specifically the exif iif add value function, which can be caused to read past the allocated buffer when processing certain files. This may lead to information disclosure or crash, potentially allowing a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information or cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For PHP EXIF extension version 7.1.x, update to version 7.1.28 or later to resolve the issue. For PHP EXIF extension version 7.2.x, update to version 7.2.17 or later to resolve the issue. For PHP EXIF extension version 7.3.x, update to version 7.3.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the exif iif add value function until a patch is available.
