CVE-2019-10899

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Wireshark versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.13 Wireshark versions 2.6.0 through 2.6.7 Wireshark version 3.0.0
Description The issue is related to a buffer under-read in the SRVLOC dissector, which could cause a crash. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The problem is associated with the Service Location Protocol analyzer in Wireshark, allowing an attacker to crash the system by exploiting the buffer under-read vulnerability.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.13, update to a version where the SRVLOC dissector issue is fixed by preventing a heap-based buffer under-read. For Wireshark versions 2.6.0 through 2.6.7, update to a version where the SRVLOC dissector issue is fixed by preventing a heap-based buffer under-read. For Wireshark version 3.0.0, update to a version where the SRVLOC dissector issue is fixed by preventing a heap-based buffer under-read. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the SRVLOC dissector until a patch is available.
