Description
An issue in the Linux kernel can result in a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption and soft lockup, under certain failure conditions involving TPACKET V3. This is related to the
prb calc retire blk tmo() function in net/packet/af packet.c. The issue can be exploited to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For versions prior to 5.4.7, update to version 5.4.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
TPACKET V3 feature to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
