CVE-2019-8287

CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions TightVNC version 1.3.10
Description The issue is related to a global buffer overflow in the HandleCoRREBBP macro function. This can potentially result in code execution and is exploitable via network connectivity. The vulnerability is associated with a lack of mechanism for checking the size of copied data, which can allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For TightVNC version 1.3.10, consider disabling the HandleCoRREBBP macro function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
