CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick version 7.0.8-41 Q16
Description The issue is related to the XWD image parsing component in ImageMagick, which allows attackers to cause a denial-of-service (application crash resulting from an out-of-bounds Read) by crafting a corrupted XWD image file. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a service disruption.
Recommendations For ImageMagick version 7.0.8-41 Q16, consider avoiding the use of the XWD image parsing component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the processing of XWD image files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
