CVE-2019-5801

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 73.0.3683.75
Description The issue exists due to insufficient input validation in the Omnibox address bar. It allows a remote attacker to conduct spoofing attacks using a specially crafted HTML page. This can lead to domain spoofing, where an attacker can make a fake page appear as if it belongs to a legitimate domain.
Recommendations For versions prior to 73.0.3683.75, update to version 73.0.3683.75 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of potentially malicious HTML pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to untrusted websites to reduce the likelihood of encountering a crafted HTML page designed to exploit this issue.
