Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
fig2dev version 3.2.7b
Description
The issue is related to a segmentation fault in the
gencgm start function in gencgm.c, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. This is due to a buffer overflow in memory.Recommendations
For fig2dev version 3.2.7b, consider disabling the
gencgm start function in gencgm.c as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the gencgm.c component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
