Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the sixel encode highcolor function in tosixel.c. This can allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Libsixel version 1.8.3, consider disabling the sixel encode highcolor function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
