CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FortiClient for Linux versions 6.2.1 and below
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the nanomsg library of FortiClient for Linux, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by sending specially crafted IPC requests. This can lead to crashes of FortiClient processes running under root privilege.
Recommendations For FortiClient for Linux versions 6.2.1 and below, consider restricting access to the fctsched process to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using specially crafted IPC client requests to the fctsched process until the issue is resolved.
