Description
The issue is related to the PV DecodePredictedIntraDC function in the dec pred intra dc.cpp file of the Android operating system, which is associated with an out of bounds write in memory. This could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. User interaction is required for exploitation.
Recommendations
For Android versions 7.1.1 through 9, consider restricting access to the vulnerable function PV DecodePredictedIntraDC until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the affected functionality that triggers the PV DecodePredictedIntraDC function.
