CVE-2019-20006

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ezXML versions 0.8.3 through 0.8.6
Description The issue is related to the function ezxml char content in the ezXML library for parsing XML documents. It involves a use-after-free error, where a pointer to the internal address of a larger block is stored as xml->txt and later deallocated using free, leading to a segmentation fault. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For ezXML versions 0.8.3 through 0.8.6, consider disabling the ezxml char content function until a patch is available to prevent potential exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
