Description
The issue is related to a lack of division by zero check in the libavcodec/ratecontrol.c component of the FFmpeg multimedia library. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service.
Recommendations
For FFmpeg version 4.1.3, consider disabling the
libavcodec/ratecontrol.c component as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.DoS
