Description
The issue is related to the con insert unipair function in the drivers/tty/vt/consolemap.c component of the Linux kernel, which is associated with incorrect memory deallocation before removing the last reference. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service. There is a memory leak in a certain case of an ENOMEM outcome of kmalloc.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions through 5.1.5, consider updating to a version that includes a fix for the memory leak issue in the con insert unipair function.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
