| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GNUBOARD5 versions prior to 5.3.2.0
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the
cf title parameter, also known as the "homepage title" parameter, in the adm/config form update.php file. This enables attackers to execute malicious scripts on the victim's browser.Recommendations
For versions prior to 5.3.2.0, update to version 5.3.2.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
adm/config form update.php file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the cf title parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Fix
