Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
GNUBOARD5 version 5.3.1.9
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the
bo content head parameter, also known as the "board head contents" parameter, in the adm/board form update.php endpoint. This enables attackers to execute malicious scripts on the victim's browser.Recommendations
For GNUBOARD5 version 5.3.1.9, consider restricting access to the
adm/board form update.php endpoint until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the bo content head parameter in this endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
