Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Tenda PA6 Wi-Fi Powerline extender version 1.0.1.21
Description
The issue is caused by improper bounds checking by the "Wireless" section in the web-UI, leading to a stack-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash by sending a specially crafted hostname.
Recommendations
For Tenda PA6 Wi-Fi Powerline extender version 1.0.1.21, consider disabling the "Wireless" section in the web-UI as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to the web-UI to prevent remote attackers from sending specially crafted hostnames. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
