CVE-2019-20426

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Lustre file system versions prior to 2.12.3
Description The issue is related to the ptlrpc module in the Lustre file system, where there is an out-of-bounds access and panic due to the lack of validation for specific fields of packets sent by a client. Specifically, in the function ldlm cancel hpreq check, there is no lock count bounds check.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.12.3, update to version 2.12.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider implementing additional validation for packets sent by clients to prevent out-of-bounds access.
