CVE-2019-20431

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Lustre file system versions prior to 2.12.3
Description The issue is related to the ptlrpc module and osd ldiskfs module in the Lustre file system. Specifically, there is an out-of-bounds access and panic due to the lack of validation for specific fields of packets sent by a client in the osd map remote to local function. Additionally, the osd bufs get function does not validate a certain length value.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.12.3, update to version 2.12.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ptlrpc module and osd ldiskfs module to minimize the risk of exploitation.
