VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WAGO PFC 200 version 03.02.02(14)
Description A stack buffer overflow issue exists in the iocheckd service 'I/O-Check' functionality. This can be triggered by a specially crafted XML cache file written to a specific location on the device, causing a stack buffer overflow and resulting in code execution. An attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted packet to trigger the parsing of this cache file.
Recommendations For WAGO PFC 200 version 03.02.02(14), consider disabling the iocheckd service until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the device to minimize the risk of a specially crafted packet being sent to trigger the vulnerability. Avoid using the 'I/O-Check' functionality until the issue is resolved.
