Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions prior to the fixed version
Description
The issue is related to missing permission checks in several functions of NotificationManagerService.java. This could lead to local escalation of privilege by creating fake system notifications with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to the fixed version, consider restricting access to the NotificationManagerService.java functions until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the affected functions to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
