CVE-2020-0441
CVSS v2.0
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions Android-8.0 through Android-11
Description
The issue is related to a possible resource exhaustion due to improper input validation in the Message and toBundle of Notification.java. This could lead to a remote denial of service, requiring a device reset to fix, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Recommendations
For Android versions Android-8.0 through Android-11, consider restricting access to the Notification.java module to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, disabling the
toBundle() function in Notification.java may help mitigate the issue. However, the most effective solution would be to apply a patch or update once it becomes available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Resource Exhaustion
