Description An issue was discovered that allows attackers to achieve arbitrary file deletion from the Avast program path via the aswTask RPC endpoint for the TaskEx library in the Avast Service (AvastSvc.exe), when Self Defense is enabled.

Recommendations For versions prior to 20, update to version 20 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Self Defense feature until a patch is available. Restrict access to the aswTask RPC endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation.
