Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of TP-Link Archer A7 routers. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the handling of DNS responses, resulting from the lack of proper validation of DNS responses prior to further processing. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other issues to execute code in the context of the root user.
Recommendations For TP-Link Archer A7 Firmware version 190726, consider disabling the DNS response handling functionality until a patch is available. Restrict access to the router to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
