Description
This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the handling of passwords, where passwords are encrypted in a recoverable format using a hard-coded key. An attacker can leverage this issue to disclose credentials, leading to further compromise.
Recommendations
For C-MORE HMI EA9 Firmware version 6.52, consider disabling password transmission or restricting access to the password handling mechanism until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the touch screen panels for sensitive operations until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
