CVE-2020-12651
CVSS v2.0
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SecureCRT versions prior to 8.7.2
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an Integer Overflow and a Buffer Overflow. This occurs because a banner can trigger a line number to CSI functions that exceeds INT MAX, leading to memory corruption in CSI functions.
Recommendations
For SecureCRT versions prior to 8.7.2, update to version 8.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to CSI functions until a patch is available.
