CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions TRENDnet ProView Wireless camera TV-IP512WN version 1.0R 1.0.4
Description The issue is an unauthenticated stack-based buffer overflow in handling RTSP packets, potentially resulting in remote code execution or denial of service. This occurs when the binary rtspd, located in /sbin, parses a long Authorization: Basic RTSP header.
Recommendations For version 1.0R 1.0.4, consider restricting access to the rtspd binary in /sbin to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using long Authorization: Basic RTSP headers until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
