CVE-2020-13109

CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Morita Shogi 64 versions through 2020-05-02
Description The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted packet data to the built-in modem because 0x800b3e94 (aka the IF subcommand to top-level command 7) has a stack-based buffer overflow. This occurs when sending data to the modem, potentially allowing for the execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations For Morita Shogi 64 versions through 2020-05-02, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of the built-in modem until a patch is available. Restrict access to the modem functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
