Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NaviServer versions 4.99.4 through 4.99.19
Description
The issue allows for a denial of service due to the
ChunkedDecode function in nsd/driver.c not properly validating the length of a chunk. A remote attacker can craft a chunked-transfer request that will result in a negative value being passed to memmove via the size parameter, causing the process to crash.Recommendations
For versions 4.99.4 through 4.99.19, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
ChunkedDecode function in nsd/driver.c until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Memory Corruption
