Description
A privilege escalation issue exists in the WinRing0x64 Driver IRP 0x9c40a148 functionality. This allows an adversary to obtain elevated privileges by sending a specially crafted I/O request packet (IRP). An attacker can trigger this issue by sending a malicious IRP.
Recommendations
For NZXT CAM version 4.8.0, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the WinRing0x64 Driver IRP 0x9c40a148 functionality until a patch is available.
