Description The issue concerns command injections in the apply.cgi file via specific actions, including pppoe connect, ru pppoe connect, or dhcp connect, with the key wan ifname (or wan0 dns), allowing an authenticated user to run arbitrary commands on the device.
Recommendations For TRENDnet TEW-827DRU versions through 2.06B04, consider disabling access to the apply.cgi file or restricting the use of the actions pppoe connect, ru pppoe connect, and dhcp connect until a patch is available. Avoid using the keys wan ifname and wan0 dns in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
