Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The flaw exists within the
ajax crons.php file, specifically when parsing the line parameter. The process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call, allowing an attacker to execute code in the context of root.Recommendations
For CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
ajax crons.php file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the ajax crons.php file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the line parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Fix
