CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the ajax crons.php file. When parsing the user parameter, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.
Recommendations For CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ajax crons.php file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the ajax crons.php file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the user parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
