CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the ajax php pecl.php file, where the canal parameter does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.
Recommendations For CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ajax php pecl.php file or restricting access to it until a patch is available. Avoid using the canal parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
