Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The flaw exists within the
ajax mod security.php file, specifically when parsing the archivo parameter. The process does not properly validate a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.Recommendations
For CentOS Web Panel version cwp-e17.0.9.8.923, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
ajax mod security.php file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the archivo parameter in the affected API endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
