CVE-2020-15642

CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Marvell QConvergeConsole version 5.5.0.64
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Although authentication is required to exploit this issue, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. The specific flaw exists within the isHPSmartComponent method of the GWTTestServiceImpl class. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of SYSTEM.
Recommendations For Marvell QConvergeConsole version 5.5.0.64, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the isHPSmartComponent method of the GWTTestServiceImpl class until a patch is available. Restrict access to the GWTTestServiceImpl class to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
