Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rConfig version 3.9.5
Description
The issue allows a remote authenticated attacker to traverse directories on the system. This can be achieved by sending a crafted request to the "ajaxGetFileByPath.php" script, which contains hexadecimal encoded "dot dot" sequences (%2f..%2f) in the
path parameter, enabling the attacker to view arbitrary files on the system.Recommendations
For rConfig version 3.9.5, consider restricting access to the "ajaxGetFileByPath.php" script until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the
path parameter in the affected script to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
Path traversal
