Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the Application Service component of Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator. This easily exploitable vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTPS to compromise Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. The vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator accessible data, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator accessible data.
Recommendations
For Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator version 12.1.3, consider restricting access to the Application Service component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTPS protocol for accessing Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
