Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Foxit Studio Photo version 3.6.6.922
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of CMP files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data. This can result in a read past the end of an allocated structure, potentially allowing an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process when combined with other vulnerabilities.
Recommendations
For Foxit Studio Photo version 3.6.6.922, consider disabling the handling of CMP files as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the CMP file parsing module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using user-supplied data in the CMP file handling process until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
