Description
The issue is caused by insufficient boundary checks when decoding JSON in the handleBackslash function, which can lead to out of bounds memory reads and potentially cause a denial of service (DOS).
Recommendations
For HHVM versions 4.9.0 through 4.45.0, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For HHVM versions prior to 4.8.7, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the handleBackslash function to minimize the risk of exploitation.
