CVE-2020-1929

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Apache Beam MongoDB connector versions 2.10.0 through 2.16.0
Description The issue concerns the Apache Beam MongoDB connector's handling of SSL trust verification. Despite having an option to disable SSL trust verification, this configuration is not respected, and certificate verification disables trust verification in every case. Furthermore, this exclusion is registered globally, which disables trust checking for any code running in the same JVM.
Recommendations For Apache Beam MongoDB connector versions 2.10.0 through 2.16.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of the SSL trust verification option until a patch is available. Restrict access to the MongoDB connector to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the connector in environments where SSL trust verification is crucial until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
