Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
yubihsm-shell versions prior to 2.0.3
Description
An issue was discovered in the
send secure msg() function. The function does not validate the embedded length field of a message received from the device, which could lead to an oversized memcpy() call that will crash the running process. This could be used by an attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.0.3, update to version 2.0.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
send secure msg() function until a patch is available.Exploit
