CVSS v3.1

5.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SonarQube version 8.4.2.36762
Description The issue allows an external attacker to bypass authentication through SonarScanner by setting an empty value for the -D sonar.login option, which forces anonymous authentication. This enables the creation and overwriting of public and private projects via the "/api/ce/submit" endpoint.
Recommendations For SonarQube version 8.4.2.36762, consider disabling the SonarScanner or restricting access to the "/api/ce/submit" endpoint until a patch is available. Additionally, avoid using an empty value for the -D sonar.login option to prevent anonymous authentication. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
