CVE-2020-35676

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions BigProf Online Invoicing System versions prior to 3.1
Description The issue arises from the failure to correctly sanitize an XSS payload when a user registers using the self-registration functionality. This allows an attacker to input a crafted payload that will execute upon the application's administrator browsing the registered users' list. Once the arbitrary Javascript is executed in the context of the admin, this will cause the attacker to gain administrative privileges, effectively leading into an application takeover. The affected files include app/membership signup.php and app/admin/pageViewMembers.php.
Recommendations For versions prior to 3.1, update to version 3.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the self-registration functionality and limiting administrative privileges until the update can be applied. Additionally, restrict access to the affected files app/membership signup.php and app/admin/pageViewMembers.php to minimize the risk of exploitation.
