Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rusqlite versions prior to 0.23.0
Description
An issue in the rusqlite crate can lead to memory safety violations. This can occur through various means, including mishandling format strings in
rusqlite::trace::log, use-after-free in Auxdata API, UnlockNotification, VTab / VTabCursor, sessions.rs, the repr(Rust) type, Auxdata API data race, and create module.Recommendations
For versions prior to 0.23.0, update to version 0.23.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the vulnerable components, such as Auxdata API, UnlockNotification, VTab / VTabCursor, and create module, until a patch is available. Avoid using the
rusqlite::trace::log function with untrusted format strings.Fix
Use of Externally-Controlled Format String
Race Condition
Use After Free
