Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Moxa AWK-3131A firmware version 1.13
Description
A denial-of-service issue exists in the ServiceAgent functionality due to an integer underflow. This underflow can trigger a large memcpy, accessing unmapped or out-of-bounds memory. An attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted packet without authentication. The vulnerability is related to a heap-based buffer overflow, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial-of-service.
Recommendations
For Moxa AWK-3131A firmware version 1.13, consider restricting access to the ServiceAgent functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the ServiceAgent functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
